We were proud to assist in the production of this movie by supplying realistic dildos for a scene where our worst nightmares are realised…someone discovers our toys!

Director Josh Lawson is not afraid to investigate sexual desires and indeed looks at a range of sexual desires. While exploring an often taboo topic I was geared up for a pretty erotic movie and was very surprised that the scenes were very tame.

The Little Death (A literal translation of the french term for an orgasm ‘le petit mort’) follows the sometimes controversial sexual adventures of 4 Australian couples.

One couple who are seemingly the picture of normality harbour a secret…Mauve has fantasies about being restrained and her partner forcing himself on her.

Another couple trying to have a child find it difficult as Rowena can only become aroused when her partner is, well, crying.

Our third intriguing relationship sees Phil become aroused when his partner, played by Lisa McKeown, is asleep.

Yet another couple deals with the slightly less fringe fetish of being driven wild by his beautiful partners feet.

The cast are brilliant and some scenes bravely explore sexuality and fetish in everyday couples.

I think the most compelling scene deals with sexuality for those with handicaps. Sam has hearing and speech disabilities and whose carer, Monica, translates Sams sign language to convey to a phone sex worker.

This is reminiscent of the old Seinfeld episode where an overtly sexual deaf boss forces her translator to flirt with men…however this production is brilliantly funny and for me makes the movie.

The film is interesting and provokes a conversation about what is ‘normal’ and how couples can deal with sexual desires and open discussion in relationships.

Please watch for the dildo scene! We were very happy to contribute to this wonderful Australian production.
